The Catholic Hall of Fame

The Vatican
appears ready to "ditch the miracle clause" in order to put more "saints" on the fastrack. The Pope, already under fire for overseeing a saint-making factory, has sent 482 folks to the Catholic Hall of Fame, more than all other popes combined. The church wants to create more role models for the living but by watering down sainthood I think it could have the opposite affect. It's kinda like watching the Oscars, who cares who won for sound editing? You'll recall they sent Gretzky to the Hockey Hall of Fame in record time. I think the Pope is also trying to fit Mother Teresa with a 99 Jersey and gett'er in before his term is up as director. It's also probably getting harder to quantify those miracles in the enslaught of science too. Opus, patron saint of pointless blogs, has a nice ring to it.

Comments:
If anyone I know will become a patron saint of anything my money is definitely on you.
